A Promising Start

The Arizona Diamondbacks came out swinging at Coors Field against the Rockies, setting the tone early with an RBI single by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the first inning. This gave us a quick lead, and with Geraldo Perdomo's excellent base running in the third, we capitalized again on a defensive error to add more runs to the board. Ketel Marte was a standout performer early on, with multiple key hits to keep the momentum in our favor. By the end of the fifth inning, we had a comfortable 5-2 lead over the Rockies. 🌟

Mid-Game Highlights

Our defense held strong through the middle innings. Adrian Del Castillo stepped up in the seventh inning with a two-run homer that extended our lead to 7-2, making the most of Corbin Carroll's aggressive base running that saw him steal second and third. 💪 Although the Rockies managed to inch closer with a couple of runs at the end of the seventh, our boys were still in control and looked poised to close out the game with a solid lead.

A Tough Loss at the End

Alas, the game's final innings proved problematic for the Diamondbacks. A series of defensive lapses and a lack of bullpen execution allowed the Rockies to storm back with an offensive onslaught. Brenton Doyle and Kyle Farmer led the charge for the Rockies in the bottom of the eighth, where unfortunately, a couple of costly errors turned the tide. Ending the game on a bittersweet note, the Rockies scored eight runs in the eighth inning to surpass us, finishing with a 10-7 win over the Diamondbacks. 😞

While it's never easy seeing a lead slip away, we're encouraged by the early offensive productivity and the strong start our D-Backs showed. We're keeping our heads high and looking forward to the next game where we'll surely bounce back! 🌵⚾
