Recap: Rockies Rally Late for Thrilling Win Over Diamondbacks

What a game, Rockies fans! 🏔️⚾ The Colorado Rockies pulled off an exhilarating come-from-behind win against the Arizona Diamondbacks, capped off by a dramatic 9th-inning finish. Let's dive into the action-packed game!

First Inning Blues

The game started with a bang for the Diamondbacks. After Corbin Carroll tripled to center, Ketel Marte sent one over the center field wall for a two-run homer, putting Arizona on top quickly. Our boys in purple couldn't muster much in the bottom half, with Charlie Blackmon flying out and Ezequiel Tovar striking out. However, Brenton Doyle did give us a glimmer of hope by singling and stealing second, but it wasn't enough. Rockies Score: 0, Diamondbacks Score: 2

Senzatela and Molina Keep Us in the Game

After the rough start, Antonio Senzatela and reliever Molina did a great job keeping the Diamondbacks at bay. Infield defense and some timely pitching, including a double play in the 4th inning, kept Arizona from adding to their lead. Rockies Score: 0, Diamondbacks Score: 2

Tovar's Blast and Goodman's Clutch Hit

In the 4th inning, Ezequiel Tovar lit up Coors Field with a solo homer to right-center field, cutting the deficit in half. Later, during the 7th inning, Hunter Goodman came through big time, smashing a homer to left that tied the game and brought our Rockies right back into it! Rockies Score: 2, Diamondbacks Score: 2

Late-Inning Tension

The game remained deadlocked through the 8th and top of the 9th innings. Peralta and Halvorsen delivered clutch pitching performances, while our defense held firm. Rockies Score: 2, Diamondbacks Score: 2

Heroic 9th Inning

Now to the thrilling finish! Brenton Doyle led off the bottom of the 9th with a single to right and then stole second. After an intentional walk to Ryan McMahon, Brendan Rodgers hit a grounder to second. It looked like a routine out, but thanks to a throwing error by shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, Doyle raced home to score the winning run. Rockies Score: 3, Diamondbacks Score: 2

Final Thoughts

What a rollercoaster of emotions! Our Rockies showed resilience and determination, battling back from an early deficit to claim a memorable victory. Big kudos to Ezequiel Tovar and Hunter Goodman for their heroics at the plate and to our pitchers for keeping us in the game. Let's carry this momentum forward and keep the wins coming! 🏔️⚾

Go Rockies!
