Tough Loss in LA, but Signs of Fight

Hey fellow D-backs fans 🐍! Last night was a roller coaster, so let's dive into the recap of our battle against the Dodgers in LA. Despite the loss, there were some bright spots that shined through. Our fighting spirit was on full display, even if the final score didn't go our way.

Early Innings - A Promising Start

The game started off strong with Ketel Marte singling to center in the 1st, showing signs of what could have been a promising inning. However, the baseball gods weren't in our favor early on, as Corbin Carroll, Joc Pederson, and Christian Walker all went down swinging, keeping us from capitalizing on that lead-off single.

Moving into the 2nd, our bats couldn't find their rhythm. But, hope sparked in the 3rd when Kevin Newman doubled to left, followed by a strategic walk from Marte, setting the stage for Pederson, who singled to center bringing Newman home and putting the first run on the board for the D-backs! 🏃💨

The Dodgers' Big 3rd

It wasn't until the bottom of the 3rd that things took a turn. The Dodgers unleashed a barrage, highlighted by a grand slam from Freddie Freeman, turning a tied game into a 5-1 lead for LA. A solo shot by Will Smith right after just salted the wound, making it 6-1. Despite this, our boys didn't let their heads drop.

D-backs Show Their Fight

Fast forward to the top of the 7th, with the Dodgers leading 6-2. Our offense began to find its groove again. The highlight was the 8th inning, where back-to-back homers by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Jake McCarthy lit up the scoreboard. Their long balls cut the Dodgers' lead down to just two runs, making it 6-4. The energy was electric, and for a moment, a comeback seemed possible! ⚡

Ninth Inning Efforts and Final Thoughts

Despite our late surge, the 9th inning brought a tough battle against Daniel Hudson, where Carroll and Marte both went down swinging, ultimately ending our charge. The game closed with the Dodgers taking the win at 6-4.

While it's never easy to stomach a loss, especially against the Dodgers, there's a lot to be proud of. The D-backs showed grit and determination, fighting back late in the game and putting pressure on LA. This team has heart, and performances like McCarthy's homer or Newman's critical hits are testaments to that.

As we look forward to our next game, let's rally behind our D-backs, knowing that this kind of spirit and fight can lead to great things down the road. Let's shake this one off and bring that fire to our next game! 🔥🐍 #RattleOn
