Tough Day at the Office: D-backs Fall to Mariners

Hey fellow D-backs fans 👋, yesterday was a rough one for our boys in Sedona red as they faced off against the Seattle Mariners. It wasn't the day we were hoping for, but let's dive into what happened.

Early Optimism Quickly Dashed

The game started off with your usual first inning jitters, nothing scored by either team. However, the Mariners quickly put themselves on the board with a solo homer by Josh Rojas in the bottom of the first inning. 😤

Our D-backs tried to respond, but the Mariners' defense was on lock, turning our potential rallies into double plays not once, not twice, but devastatingly three times throughout the game. 😩

A Glimmer of Hope

In the 6th inning, Kevin Newman gave us something to cheer for with a 398 feet homer to the left center. 🙌 That moment brought the score to 2-1, and for a minute there, hope was in the air.

However, that glimmer was quickly extinguished. The bottom of the same inning saw a grand slam by Mitch Haniger, pushing the Mariners way ahead to a 6-1 lead. Our bullpen struggled to find their rhythm, and this blow was just too much to recover from. 😖

Battling Till the End

Despite the scoreline, the D-backs showed grit, battling till the end. We got base runners on in the 9th inning, filling the bases with Ketel Marte, Joc Pederson, and Christian Walker all reaching safely. It was a moment where we could have turned things around, but alas, Eugenio Suárez grounded out, and with that, our hopes for a comeback were dashed. 😢

The final score stood at Mariners 6, Diamondbacks 1. Though it wasn't our day, baseball is all about looking forward to the next game. Let's keep our heads up, support our team, and hope they shake this one off quickly. 🤞💪

Remember, Diamondbacks fans, it's not about how we fall but how we get back up. Let's bring all the positive vibes for the next game! Go D-backs! 🐍🔥
