Tough Loss for the Mets 
The New York Mets played host to the Atlanta Braves, and as a loyal Mets fan, it's always hard to see our boys come up short. The Braves took this one with a final score of 7-4. Despite the loss, there were some promising moments from our squad that deserve a shoutout.Promising Start but Short-Lived Lead 
The game was scoreless through the first three innings, with both teams struggling to gain an advantage. However, the Mets lit up the 4th inning when Juan Soto walked and stole second, setting the stage. Pete Alonso singled to advance Soto to third, while Starling Marte walked, loading the bases. Jeff McNeil hit a sacrifice fly to bring Soto home, giving us an initial lead of 1-0. Brett Baty's clutch single brought in Alonso and Marte, extending our joy to 3-0. Sixth-Inning Slump 
Unfortunately, the 6th inning shifted momentum entirely. The Braves came alive with a series of walks and clutch hits, leading to 5 runs that stole the lead right out from under us. Our bullpen struggled as Brazobán, Castillo, and Garrett stepped in, but the Braves' bats were relentless. Hits from their roster saw them close the inning with a 5-3 lead over us.Braves Seal the Deal in the Eighth 
By the 8th inning, the Braves further extended their lead to 7-3 with a Ronald Acuña Jr. walk and a powerful double from Matt Olson, scoring Acuña Jr. It was a heartbreaker to watch, as the Braves capitalized on every opportunity.A Glimmer of Hope 
In the bottom of the 9th, our Mets weren't finished yet. Jeff McNeil doubled, followed by a Jared Young single to give us a second wind. Then, Ronny Mauricio doubled, scoring McNeil. Despite getting a run back, it wasn't enough to overcome the lead the Braves had created, leaving us with the final score of 7-4.Though today's game didn't end in our favor, it's always great to see players like Soto, Alonso, and McNeil giving their all on the field. Onto the next one, Mets fans! Let's keep our heads up and continue to rally behind our team.
