The game started with a series of strikeouts and groundouts as both teams' pitchers showed dominance early on. Despite a walk by Mike Trout in the bottom of the 1st, the Angels couldn't capitalize early. The Orioles managed to put the pressure on early with James McCann hitting a homer in the 2nd, bringing the score to 1-0. By the mid-game, they extended their lead to 3-0. However, the Angels showed their fighting spirit in the 7th with Jo Adell hitting a 393-foot homer to right center and Nolan Schanuel singling to right, bringing O'Hoppe home to score. This cut the Orioles' lead to 4-2, sparking hope among the fans.
