First Inning: A Defensive Showcase

The Orioles and Dodgers faced off with both teams showcasing their defensive skills in the first inning. Colton Cowser, Adley Rutschman, and Gunnar Henderson were unable to get on base for the Orioles, all being retired by the Dodgers' defense. The Dodgers, too, couldn't break through as Shohei Ohtani was left stranded after a single, thanks to a double play and a groundout. 🛡️

Second Inning: Offense Ignites

Anthony Santander flied out, but Ryan O'Hearn brought some excitement, launching a homer to right-center, giving the Orioles an early 1-0 lead. 💥 The Dodgers quickly responded with Tommy Edman's triple and a sacrifice fly by Miguel Rojas, tying the game at 1-1.

Third Inning: Missed Opportunities

Though Cowser walked and Rutschman singled to move him to third, the Orioles couldn't capitalize. The Dodgers took a 2-1 lead as T. Hernández singled in Ohtani, who had earlier singled and advanced on a walk. We were hoping for a better finish to this inning!

Fifth Inning: Taking Back the Lead

Jackson Holliday singled and Ramon Urias smashed a homer to left, driving in two runs and putting the Orioles back on top, 3-2. 🎉 This feeling gave us the hope we needed!

Pitching Delivers

Entering the middle innings, the Orioles' pitchers held their ground. In the fifth, reliever Bowman and in the sixth, reliever Pérez stopped the Dodgers from gaining any momentum. Kudos to the bullpen for stepping up when we needed them the most!

Defensive Stalemate

Despite multiple pitching changes and scoring opportunities, both teams remained scoreless through the seventh and eighth innings. Soto came in as a pinch runner, but Cedric Mullins and others couldn't get him home. The Dodgers threatened with Mookie Betts stealing second, but back-to-back strikeouts by Cano shut them down. ⚾

Ninth Inning: Nerves of Steel

Top of the ninth saw Ramon Urias walking, but the Orioles couldn't extend their lead with Rutschman flying out to end the inning. Domínguez took the mound to close it out and, with great nerves, got through some tense moments. After a single from Rojas and a walk to Lux, Chris Taylor's line-out preserved our precious one-run lead.

Orioles Win!

What a thrilling game, O's fans! Final score: Orioles 3, Dodgers 2. Great job by O'Hearn and Urias for their clutch homers, and hats off to our bullpen for sealing the win. 🙌 Keep the momentum going, O's!
