Tough Loss Despite Spirited Comeback
Hey Fish fans, what a nail-biter! The Marlins fought hard but ultimately fell short in an intense extra-innings game against the Orioles, losing 7-6.Early Struggles
The game didn't start off well for us. Anthony Santander kicked things off with a solo homer in the 1st inning, setting the tone for Baltimore. We struggled offensively in our first few innings with Jazz Chisholm Jr., Xavier Edwards, and others unable to make much headway.Mid-Game Woes
The Orioles extended their lead through the 2nd to 4th innings, with a huge 3-run homer by Colton Cowser and yet another homer from Connor Norby. Errors unfortunately added to the misery, setting the score at 6-0. Kudos to Josh Bell who got us on the board with a fantastic 399-foot homer in the 6th inning.Never Say Die Attitude
Our bats finally started to heat up in the 8th inning. Xavier Edwards and Bryan De La Cruz gave us some hope with an RBI single and a double, respectively. It was fantastic to see the team battle back to make it 6-3 by the end of the inning.Dramatic 9th Inning
This was where the excitement really peaked! Pinch-hitter Nick Gordon and Vidal Bruján reaching base gave us a golden opportunity. More errors by Baltimore and clutch hitting led us to a 6-6 tie. Josh Bell delivered again with a critical RBI single.Heartbreaking Finish in Extras
Despite our amazing comeback, Ryan Mountcastle delivered the decisive blow in the 10th inning with an RBI single. We had the last chance in the bottom of the 10th, but unfortunately, Nick Gordon struck out swinging, leaving us just short.Wrapping It Up
Hats off to the Marlins for their relentless fighting spirit. Today's game was a testament to our team's grit and determination. We’ll dust ourselves off, learn from this, and come back stronger. Go Marlins!
