Game Summary: Orioles @ Mets

Wow, what a nail-biting game that was! The Mets pulled off an exciting 4-3 victory against the Orioles, and I'm still buzzing from Francisco Alvarez's walk-off homer! ⚾💥

Strong Start by the Mets

The game started off with a bang for us. After a quiet top of the 1st inning, Mark Vientos got things rolling with a single to right. Then J.D. Martinez came up huge with a 393-foot homer to right-center, bringing Mark home and giving us a 2-0 lead early on. Pete Alonso grounded out, but Starling Marte kept the momentum going with a single and a stolen base before Jose Iglesias grounded out to end the inning.

Pitching Dominance in Early Innings

Our pitcher did a stellar job in the first half of the game, with the Orioles struggling to get any momentum. By the end of the 2nd inning, they hadn't managed to score. In the bottom of the 4th, Pete Alonso doubled and was advanced to third by a sacrifice from Marte. Tyrone Taylor brought Alonso home with a single, extending our lead to 3-0.

Orioles Fight Back

The Orioles started clawing their way back into the game in the 5th inning when Ramon Urias scored on a pickoff error by our pitcher David Peterson. They closed the gap to 3-1. The 7th inning was tough; they scored twice thanks to a balk that brought Ryan Mountcastle home and a solo homer by Urias, tying the game at 3-3.

Late-Inning Drama

The game remained deadlocked through the 8th inning, and I could feel the tension in the air. Our bats went cold, but our bullpen kept us in the game. Yoan Lopez and Edwin Diaz did a fantastic job of keeping the Orioles at bay.

Walk-Off Victory

In the bottom of the 9th, we needed some magic, and Francisco Alvarez delivered! After Jesse Winker struck out, Alvarez stepped up and sent the ball 421 feet to center field for a game-winning homer. Absolutely electrifying! 🎉

Mets fans, this was an incredible game, and it shows the grit and determination of our team! LGM! 🚀
