Tough Loss for the Mariners

It's a tough day to be a Mariners fan as we faced off against the Orioles and unfortunately, fell short with a 2-0 loss. While we had a few chances, we just couldn’t find our rhythm offensively.

Early Action and Close Calls

The game started with a lot of defensive prowess from both sides. J.P. Crawford and Ty France couldn't get things going in the 1st inning, flying out and grounding out respectively. The Orioles got on the board in the 4th inning when Anthony Santander singled to right, allowing Gunnar Henderson to score, and despite a valiant attempt, our guys couldn’t answer back.

Missed Opportunities

We saw some action at various points but couldn't capitalize. In the 4th inning, France walked, Cal Raleigh walked, but Jorge Polanco grounded into a double play. Similarly, in the 6th inning, France walked again, Luke Raley reached on a fielder's choice, stole second, but Raleigh struck out swinging. Frustration was building as we missed several crucial opportunities.

Seventh-Inning Stretch

Things didn’t pick up much in the 7th inning as Polanco struck out and Canzone walked, only to see Julio Rodríguez ground into a fielder's choice and Mitch Haniger strike out swinging. Orioles extended their lead to 2-0 after Cedric Mullins singled to center, scoring Jordan Westburg.

Falling Short in The Ninth

There was a glimmer of hope in the last inning as Raley got hit by a pitch and Polanco followed suit. However, Canzone grounded out, and Rodríguez struck out swinging to end the game. Despite a late push, we couldn’t convert.

Overall, it was a tough game with solid defense but lacking the offensive breaks we needed. Let’s hope we turn it around in the next game! Keep the faith, Mariners fans! 💙⚾

Final Score: Orioles 2, Mariners 0

Tough break, but we look forward to coming back stronger!
