Tough Night for the Jays 😢

Hey fellow Blue Jays fans, just wanted to drop a quick recap of today's game against the Orioles. It wasn't the outcome we hoped for, with the Orioles taking it 7-2, but there were still some notable performances to discuss!

Game Highlights and Lowlights

The game started off quiet with both teams unable to score in the 1st inning. Things started to heat up in the 2nd when Anthony Santander homered for the Orioles bringing in 2 runs. Our boys didn't let that sit long, though, as Daulton Varsho tripled to bring George Springer home in the bottom of the same inning, giving us our first run! 😊

The 4th inning saw the Orioles extend their lead with another homer by Austin Hays and a double by Colton Cowser bringing in a total of three more runs. However, our very own Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wasn't having any of it, answering back with a magnificent homer in the bottom of the 4th.

Despite the efforts, the Orioles managed to get a couple more runs in, including another homer by Hays in the 7th and one by Ramon Urias in the 9th. Our Jays fought hard but just couldn't close the gap in runs.

Final Thoughts

It's tough seeing our Jays take a loss like this, especially at home. Guerrero's homer was a highlight, showing the powerhouse he is, and Varsho’s RBI gives a glimpse of what he's capable of. We definitely had some moments that kept the hope alive, but sadly it wasn't enough tonight.

There were some defensive plays worth noting, but unfortunately, a few errors that the Orioles capitalized on made things challenging. It's a long season, and every game is a lesson. Let's rally behind our team, look forward to the next game, and show them the undying support we have as true fans! 💙🤍

What did you guys think of tonight's game? Any standout performances in your eyes? Let's discuss below! 👇
