Thrilling But Tough Loss for the O's

Well, fellow O's fans, this was a rollercoaster 😅. Even though we fought hard, the Red Sox came out on top with a score of 12-10. Let’s dive into the action-packed game that had us on the edge of our seats.

Early Struggles

The Red Sox jumped ahead early in the 1st inning with an infield single from Jarren Duran followed by a double from Wilyer Abreu to bring Duran home. Rafael Devers also contributed with a double that sent Abreu home. We were down 2-0 by the end of the 1st inning. Meanwhile, our lineup couldn't quite get it done, with Colton Cowser and Gunnar Henderson striking out when we needed contact.

Closing the Gap

Things started to heat up in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Jackson Holliday singled to center, followed by Ramon Urias bringing him home with a single to left. This got us on the board 🏃‍♂️. James McCann got on base with a single, but unfortunately, we ended the inning with a ground into a double play by Cowser. Score: 2-1, Red Sox.

Trading Runs

After a tough 3rd inning where Rafael Devers hit a 400-foot homer, the score stood at 4-1. But our guys didn't back down. Bottom of the 3rd, Ryan Mountcastle doubled, setting up Eloy Jiménez for an RBI double. Holliday tripled to center, scoring Jiménez, making it 4-4 by the end of the 3rd inning!

Mid-game Struggles

The 4th inning was a nightmare. Duran walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, and finally scored on another single from Wong. Masataka Yoshida then hit a homer, bringing in three more runs. By the time the dust settled, we were looking at an 8-4 deficit 😟.

Late-Game Heroics

Cedric Mullins and Ramon Urias took charge in the 5th. Holliday singled, Jiménez made it to third, and Mullins walked. Urias then singled, scoring Jiménez. A sac fly from McCann brought Holliday home. By the end of the 5th inning, the score was 8-6, Red Sox.

Ramon Urias continued his stellar performance with a 409-foot homer to center in the 7th inning, bringing us within 2 runs. Also, Cowser and Anthony Santander each had solid hits, but sadly could not bring in more runs when we needed them.

Final Push

In the 8th inning, Ryan O'Hearn and Holliday both singled, but it was Ramon Urias again who helped out with a sac fly to bring O'Hearn home, improving the score to 12-10. Despite our best efforts, including a single by McCann, Cowser flied out to end the threat.

The 9th inning saw the dreaded K. Jansen shutting us down with three quick outs. End score: 12-10, Red Sox.

Summing Up

Let's give a big shoutout to Ramon Urias for his exceptional effort, including his home run and a total of 4 RBIs in the game! Jackson Holliday also played well with multiple hits and great base running.

A tough loss, but we’ll bounce back 💪. Let’s get ready for the next one, O’s fans! Orioles Magic will return soon ⚾🧡!
