Hot Start in the 1st Inning! 🌟

The Red Sox came out swinging in the top of the 1st! Romy Gonzalez smoked a double to left, and then Jarren Duran followed up with a monster homer to left center, putting us up 2-0 right out of the gate! Unfortunately, the momentum didn't hold as Tyler O'Neill popped out, Rafael Devers struck out, and Connor Wong's stolen base didn't lead to more runs. Yoshida's walk was exciting, but Westbrook's fly-out ended our rally.

Dodgers Answer Back 😞

The Dodgers quickly tied it up in the bottom of the 1st. Freddie Freeman and Gavin Lux both had home runs, showing us that they wouldn't go down easily. By the end of the inning, it was back to being a tied game at 2-2.

Struggles in the Mid Innings 🤦‍♂️

The Red Sox couldn't quite get it going in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Despite David Hamilton’s efforts with his steals, we just couldn't cash in. Tyler O'Neill and Rafael Devers were both struck out swinging.

Dodgers Take the Lead 😓

The 3rd and 4th innings saw the Dodgers take control. Teoscar Hernandez and Gavin Lux both homered, putting the Dodgers up 4-2. Our bats went quiet as Jamie Westbrook, David Hamilton, and Ceddanne Rafaela couldn't get anything going.

Ohtani Goes Yard and More Trouble 🏟️

Things went from bad to worse in the 5th inning when Austin Barnes and Shohei Ohtani both homered, extending the Dodgers' lead to 6-2. Ohtani's 473-foot bomb was a heartbreaker!

A Ray of Hope in the 6th 🌤️

Wong walked, Masataka Yoshida singled, and Ceddanne Rafaela came through with a single to make it 6-3. Unfortunately, Dominic Smith couldn’t capitalize and we were still trailing.

Unable to Close the Gap 😔

Despite a valiant effort, our boys couldn't close the gap. The Dodgers added three more in the 8th inning with a two-run homer from Jason Heyward.

Late Rally Falls Short 💔

In the 9th, Dominic Smith and Jarren Duran did their best to keep us in it. Duran doubled to bring in a couple more runs, but the rally fell short as Yoshida grounded into a fielder's choice and Wilyer Abreu flied out to end the game at 9-6 in favor of the Dodgers.

Overall, it was a tough game for our Sox, but there were some highlights to be proud of. Great fight, team! We'll get 'em next time! 💪❤️
