Heartbreaker in Extra Innings 😢

Fellow Marlins fans, it was a rough one tonight as our Miami Marlins fell to the Boston Red Sox in an intense 12-inning battle with a final score of 6-5.

Early Struggles 🥶

The game started off with some troubles for the Marlins. In the top of the 1st inning, the Red Sox managed to get on the board first. After David Hamilton walked, Tyler O'Neill singled to right, advancing Hamilton to second. Both Hamilton and O'Neill successfully stole bases, with Hamilton scoring on a ground out by Rafael Devers. We went down early, 0-1.

Can't Get Through Pivetta 😤

The Red Sox's starter kept us off the board through the first five innings. We couldn't manage to get a hit off Nick Pivetta, who struck out batters left and right, including Jazz Chisholm Jr., Bryan De La Cruz, Josh Bell, and Jake Burger. It was frustrating to watch our bats stay so cold.

Small Glimmers of Hope 🌟

The 8th inning brought us some hope. Vidal Bruján walked, and Nick Gordon followed suit, setting the stage for Jazz Chisholm Jr., who delivered with a single to right, scoring Bruján. Bryan De La Cruz then came through with a crucial single to center that scored Gordon, tying the game at 2-2.

Extra Innings Drama 😬

We moved into extra innings with the game tied 2-2. The 11th inning was full of excitement as Jesus Sánchez smashed a two-run homer to center, momentarily bringing us at level at 4-4. BUT, the Red Sox rallied back in the top of the 12th with singles from Ceddanne Rafaela and Tyler O'Neill, who contributed to extending their lead to 6-4.

Yet, we fought back in the bottom of the 12th with Nick Fortes singling to right, bringing Josh Bell to third. Jonah Bride then hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Bruján, making it 5-6. Despite a valiant effort by De La Cruz with another single, we couldn’t bring any more runs in, and Bell rounded out the game with a fly out to center.

Looking Ahead 💪

It was a tough loss, but let’s not get too downhearted. Our Marlins showed tenacity and grit, pushing the game to 12 innings. We have the talent and the fight, and there's still plenty of games left to turn things around. Let's keep supporting our team! 🌴🐟💙

Go Marlins! ✨
