The game started off tight, with both teams unable to get on the scoreboard through the first three innings. Our pitchers, led by Kevin Gausman, were on fire! Gausman showcased his skills until the 7th inning, and our bullpen, including Zach Little, Erik Swanson, and Chad Green finished off Boston with ease. How about that double play in the 6th inning to halt Boston’s momentum?
Offensive Sparks in the 4th Inning
The bats came alive in the 4th inning! Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led off with a double and Alejandro Kirk followed up with a double to bring Vlad home. Then came Ernie Clement with a clutch single to score Kirk, pushing our lead to 2-0!
Clutch Hits and Home Runs!
In the 5th inning, Tyler Heineman got on base with a walk, and Jonatan Clase continued his great game with another single. Kirk struck again with a 2-RBI single, extending our lead to 4-0. But the icing on the cake came in the 7th inning, when Clase smashed a 2-run homer to right center, making it 6-1!
Locked Down Defense to the End
Boston threatened in the 6th inning but couldn’t capitalize further. Our defense, including a couple of key double plays, kept them at bay. And in the bottom of the 9th, Chad Green sealed the game, ensuring a stress-free finish for all Blue Jays fans.
