A Tough Loss for the Cardinals

The game started off solid after a scoreless first inning. In the bottom of the second inning, Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado set the stage with singles, followed by a clutch two-run single by Pedro Pagés. That gave us an early 2-0 lead!
Cubs Strike Back
The Cubs quickly responded in the top of the third inning. After Pete Crow-Armstrong homered to make it 2-1, Nico Hoerner doubled and later scored on a single by Seiya Suzuki, tying the game at 2-2.Back-to-Back Homers
Our pitching faltered in the top of the fifth inning as Tomas Nido and Pete Crow-Armstrong hit back-to-back homers, putting the Cubs ahead 4-2. Adding insult to injury, Christopher Morel hit a two-run homer in the sixth, widening the gap to 6-2.Burleson's Solo Homer
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Alec Burleson gave us some hope with a solo home run to right, trimming the Cubs' lead to 6-3.
