Cubs Pull Off a Nail-Biter Win Against Nationals! ⚾️

What a game, Cubs fans! We took a thrilling 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals in a game full of ups and downs. Let's dive right into the action!

Early Inning Drama

Starting off strong, Ian Happ doubled to center right away, but we couldn't convert it to a run in the top of the 1st. But boy, did we turn things around in the 2nd inning! With hits from Isaac Paredes, Nico Hoerner, and Dansby Swanson, we quickly scored 5 runs! Not to mention, Cody Bellinger crushed a two-run homer to propel us to a 7-2 lead. 💥

Pitchers On Fire 🔥

After that explosive 2nd inning, it was all about the pitchers holding the line. While Drew Smyly and the bullpen managed to quiet the Nationals for most of the game, the highlight for me was the back-to-back strikeouts we saw from our boys to keep the pressure on!

Nationals Fight Back 😬

The Nationals made things interesting as they clawed their way back, especially in the bottom of the 9th inning. They scored 3 runs to make it 7-6, but Keegan Thompson closed the door with a crucial strikeout of Dylan Crews to end the game. 🚪✋

Wrapping Up

It was a nail-biter to the end, but a win’s a win and it tasted sweet! Great team effort by our boys, particularly Pete Crow-Armstrong and Michael Busch. This was a true display of Cubs resilience and teamwork!

Final score: Cubs 7, Nationals 6. GO CUBS! 🐻⬇️
