Frustrating Day at Truist Park 😤

Braves fans, yesterday was a tough one to swallow. We fell 1-0 to the Cincinnati Reds in a nail-biter, essentially a pitcher's duel with our bats just turning cold at the wrong time.

Defensive Battle Early On 🛡️

The Reds started their top of the 1st with Spencer Steer popping out to first, followed by Elly De La Cruz and Tyler Stephenson both striking out. Our boys started with Michael Harris II striking out, Jorge Soler popping out, but Marcell Ozuna securing a walk. Matt Olson then singled, advancing Ozuna to second, but Sean Murphy grounded out to third, ending the inning scoreless.

Reds Draw First Blood 💔

The 2nd inning was a heartbreaker. TJ Friedl got hit by a pitch, followed by Ty France doubling to right and scoring Friedl. After a couple more outs and a stolen base by Amed Rosario, Noelvi Marte struck out, mercifully ending the threat. Reds led 1-0.

Missed Opportunities ⚾

Throughout the rest of the game, both sides' defense and pitching took over. Jarred Kelenic, Gio Urshela, and Orlando Arcia all tried to get us going in the 2nd but came up empty. The top of the 3rd saw more strikeouts from the Reds, while our bottom lineup couldn't capitalize against their pitching.

Final Push Falls Short 💔

Despite some hits and players getting on base, we couldn't string together a rally. The 7th and 9th innings saw valiant efforts from Ozuna and Olson, but Díaz closed us out in the 9th.

Looking Ahead ⏭️

Let's keep our heads up, Braves Country! Games like these happen, and we know our boys have the talent to bounce back. On to the next game! Let’s come back stronger and show everyone what we're made of. Go Braves! 🐾🚀
