Rough Start for the Reds

Our tough outing begins as Jonathan India grounded out to third, followed by Elly De La Cruz striking out looking, and Tyler Stephenson lining out to center. Despite a solid first half of the inning, the Guardians came out swinging. Kyle Manzardo homered to right, followed by a two-run homer from Lane Thomas, putting the Guardians up 3-0. 😓

Reds Struggle to Bounce Back

Spencer Steer flied out to right, but TJ Friedl gave us hope with a single to center. Unfortunately, Ty France grounded into a double play, ending the inning. The Guardians didn’t manage to extend their lead in the bottom of the second, giving us a chance to regroup. However, in the top of the third, Jake Fraley doubled to right but was left stranded. Elly De La Cruz struck out swinging to cap the inning. 😔

Signs of Life!

In the fourth inning, Tyler Stephenson doubled to left and was driven in by Spencer Steer to get us on the board. However, TJ Friedl walked only for Ty France to strike out swinging, and Jake Fraley grounded into a double play. In the bottom half, the Guardians stayed scoreless which kept us hopeful.

Guardians Extend the Lead

The Guardians capitalized on our mistakes in the fifth and seventh innings. Josh Naylor doubled in José Ramírez, and another run came across on a sacrifice fly. Thomas's groundout brought in another run, pushing the Guardians to a 6-1 lead. 😓

Quiet Finish

Our bats went silent in the later innings. Spencer Steer, TJ Friedl, and Elly De La Cruz all went down in the sixth. France, Fraley, and Espinal followed suit in the seventh. Martinez, Rosario, and De La Cruz couldn't get on base in the eighth. The ninth offered no solace as Stephenson, Steer, and Friedl failed to rally any further runs. 😣

Final Thoughts

This was a tough one to swallow, Reds fans. 💔 Despite some sparks on offense, the Guardians' 6-1 victory showed we have some work to do. Let’s keep supporting our boys in red and hope for a strong comeback next game! Go Reds! 🚀
