Brewers Start Strong with Early Lead

It looked like we were off to a fantastic start thanks to a brilliant 2-run homer by Joey Ortiz in the bottom of the 2nd inning, scoring Willy Adames who had walked earlier. We were in the lead, 2-0, and the fans were on their feet! 🎉

Reds Rally Back

Unfortunately, the Reds managed to tie the game in the top of the 4th inning. Spencer Steer and Stuart Fairchild got on base, and Santiago Espinal's clutch single brought them both home. The tension built drastically as the score leveled at 2-2.

A Tough Fifth and Seventh Inning

The Reds took a 3-2 lead with Tyler Stephenson's solo homer in the top of the 5th inning. It was a tough break for us, especially after starting pitcher Hall did well. Then, in the 7th inning, Espinal again did the damage, scoring on a sac fly by Steer, making it 4-3. We were down but not out! 😤

Brewers Fight Back

We tied it up in the 6th when Gary Sánchez walked and William Contreras doubled. Willy Adames followed with a single to left, bringing Sánchez home. Adames even managed to steal second! However, we couldn't capitalize further, leaving the score at 3-3.

Missed Opportunities

The Brewers had opportunities in both the 7th and 8th innings, but double plays ended our hopes. Brice Turang ran for Sánchez in the 8th, replacing Sánchez who had walked, but Contreras grounded into a double play to end the inning.

Heartbreaking 9th Inning

With their last chance in the bottom of the 9th, the Brewers couldn't string together the hits they needed. Willy Adames and Garrett Mitchell both struck out swinging, followed by Joey Ortiz lining out to second. We were so close, yet fell just short. Final score: 4-3 in favor of the Reds. 😔

Final Thoughts

While it was a heartbreaker to lose 4-3, there were plenty of positive performances. Joey Ortiz's homer, Willy Adames's strong showing both with the bat and on the basepaths, and solid pitching performances for the most part gave us hope. We'll get them next time, Brewers fans! Let's keep our spirits high and look forward to the next game! 💪💙
