In the 6th inning, the Mets took back the lead. Jose Iglesias and J.D. Martinez both drove in runs, making it 4-2. But we didn't flinch! TJ Friedl came through with a clutch 394-foot homer to right field in the 7th inning, driving in Spencer Steer and tying the game once again at 4-4.
Stalemate and Extra Innings Drama
Neither team could break the tie in regulation, leading us to extra innings. Our bullpen held strong thanks to Santillan and Wilson, but ultimately, it was Vientos' second homer of the night in the bottom of the 10th that sealed the deal for the Mets at 6-4.
