Tough Game for the Cardinals
Hey there, Cardinals Nation!
To start, the Reds struck early with Matt McLain hitting a solo homer in the top of the first inning. Our boys tried to respond, with Masyn Winn getting a single and then stealing second. Unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize on that momentum, as Willson Contreras flied out to right.
Finding Our Groove
In the bottom of the second inning, Nolan Arenado got things started with a single to right. After a fielding error allowed Thomas Saggese to reach base, Yohel Pozo delivered with a clutch RBI single to tie the game 1-1.
The Reds Regain the Lead
The momentum shifted back to the Reds in the top of the 5th. Jose Trevino hit a double and was later brought home by Jake Fraley's double, giving the Reds a 2-1 lead. Fraley scored soon after on a sacrifice fly, stretching their lead to 3-1.Late Inning Struggles
Despite a resilient pitching performance, especially from Gordon Graceffo, the Reds managed to push another run in the top of the 6th with De La Cruz coming around to score, bringing the score to 4-1.The Cardinals had a few opportunities with Jose Barrero walking in the 8th, but solid pitching from the Reds kept us off the scoreboard. Nolan Arenado grounded out in the 9th, sealing the Reds' win.
Conclusion
It's not the outcome we hoped for, but there were some promising moments in the game today. Let's regroup and come back stronger next time. Keep the faith, Cardinals fans! We'll be back with a vengeance.
