Gritty 10-Inning Bout Ends in Heartbreaker

What a rollercoaster of a game, Angels fans! 😩 Despite a valiant effort, the Angels fell to the Rockies in a nail-biting 5-4 defeat in extra innings.

Early Struggles and a Mid-Game Comeback

We got off to a slow start as Nolan Schanuel and the rest of the top of our order struggled to get on base early. The Rockies took an early 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning with Michael Toglia hitting a two-run homer.

But hold on, because our boy Logan O'Hoppe wasn't having any of that! In the 4th inning, O'Hoppe blasted a massive 454-foot homer to center, tying the game at 2-2 and sending Willie Calhoun home along with him. 🔥

Late-Game Drama

In the 6th, Mickey Moniak kept the momentum going, hitting a solo shot to center, putting us up 3-2! And just when things seemed secure, Taylor Ward doubled in the 7th, scoring Schanuel to extend our lead to 4-2.

But it wouldn't be Angels baseball without some drama. The Rockies tied things up at 4-4 in the 9th inning when Jake Cave hit a clutch two-run homer. And alas, in extra innings, an error allowed the Rockies to take the lead 5-4. 😢

Final Push Comes Up Short

We had a chance in the bottom of the 10th, starting with Luis Guillorme moving to third on a wild pitch. However, Calhoun and O'Hoppe couldn't bring him home. It felt like destiny slipped right through our fingers.

It's a tough loss, no doubt, but we keep our heads high. There's always the next game, Angels fans! Let's keep rallying and cheer our boys onto victory next time! 🚀

Go Halos! 🌟
