Heartbreaking Loss Despite Early Lead

Rockies fans, this one stings. Our Colorado Rockies jumped out to a fantastic start, with a 3-run first inning showcasing early dominance. Ezequiel Tovar and Ryan McMahon combined for singles to get on base, followed by Brendan Rodgers driving in two runs with an infield single and Nolan Jones grounding out to first to bring in another. It felt like we were set up for a great game! 😃

Building the Lead

We continued to build on that lead with Brendan Rodgers again scoring in the 3rd inning off a Nolan Jones single and Hunter Goodman driving in Jake Cave in the 6th inning to make it 5-1. Big shoutout to Ryan McMahon for his double in the 5th! The offense really showed up early in the game. 🌟

Dodgers Rally Back

Unfortunately, the Dodgers chipped away at our lead. A 418-foot homer by Teoscar Hernandez in the 4th made it 4-1, and a crucial 2-run homer by Enrique Hernandez in the 7th closed the gap to 5-3. Shohei Ohtani’s single followed by Freddie Freeman’s RBI single made it 5-4, and tension was high.

Ninth Inning Heartbreak 💔

We brought in Andre Halvorsen to close things out in the 9th, but disaster struck. Shohei Ohtani hit a monstrous 432-foot homer to tie it at 5-5, and then Mookie Betts delivered the crushing blow with a walk-off homer to seal the game 6-5 for the Dodgers.

Final Thoughts

This was a tough loss, Rockies fans. We had a strong start, but the Dodgers’ late-game heroics stole it from us. Nonetheless, our guys showed great resilience and potential. Let’s keep our heads up and look forward to the next game! Go Rockies! 💜⚾
