Another Tough Loss for the Rockies
Rockies fans had a heartbreaker today at Milwaukee as we fell to the Brewers 10-6. While the game started with a scoreless first inning, things quickly became heated and unfortunately, we couldn't keep up with the Brewers' offense.Early Opportunities
In the top of the 1st, Mickey Moniak got a chance to start us off, but grounded out to third. Jordan Beck managed to get a walk, and Thairo Estrada followed up with a single, pushing Beck to second. Sadly, Michael Toglia struck out, and Kyle Farmer fouled out to the catcher, ending our chance to score. The Brewers didn't get on the board until the 4th inning, so we had opportunities to take the lead but just couldn't capitalize early on.Brewers' Big 4th Inning
When we reached the bottom of the 4th, the Brewers started with a strong offensive showing. After a couple of singles and a walk, Brice Turang's clutch single drove in two runs, putting the Brewers on the board. Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio extended their lead with more hits, including a homer from Chourio that brought the score to 6-0.Rockies Comeback Attempt
In the top of the 5th, we saw some life from our Rockies. Ryan Ritter's groundout allowed Brenton Doyle to score our first run. Thairo Estrada shone with a single that brought Beck and Ritter home, cutting the deficit to 6-3. The top of the 6th saw Braxton Fulford double, bringing Ryan McMahon around to score and making it 7-4. Then, in the 8th, Fulford came up big again with another double, driving in two more runs to bring it to a close 7-6.Brewers Seal the Win
Despite our best efforts to claw our way back, the Brewers answered back in the bottom of the 8th. Christian Yelich's double brought in two more runs, increasing their lead to 10-6 and making the comeback challenge much harder. In the 9th, we got Jordan Beck on base thanks to an error by the Brewers' shortstop, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize, and Kyle Farmer struck out swinging to end the game. We'll be back next game with our Rockies pride intact! This was just a bump in the road. Let's rally together, Rockies Nation!
