Tough Loss Against the Brewers

Our Rockies faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers and it was a tough outing for our boys. Despite promising moments, we ended up falling to the Brewers with a final score of 2-5. ⚾

Early Setbacks

The game started with some early fireworks from the Brewers. After a quiet top of the 1st, Milwaukee's Willy Adames and Gary Sánchez each hit solo homers in the bottom of the inning, putting us in an early 0-2 hole. The second inning didn't provide any relief either as Brendan Rodgers struck out looking and we couldn't capitalize on Michael Toglia reaching third base. 😔

Third Inning Struggles

The Brewers extended their lead in the bottom of the 3rd when William Contreras homered to right center, bringing Brice Turang in to score. This left us trailing 0-4. Our bats were cold in the top of the inning with Charlie Blackmon, Ezequiel Tovar, and Brenton Doyle all striking out. Ugh!

McMahon and Hilliard Show Some Life

The 4th inning gave us a glimmer of hope as Ryan McMahon launched a solo homer to center field, getting us on the board, 1-4. However, the Brewers answered right back with a run in the bottom of the 4th thanks to Sal Frelick scoring on a double by Joey Ortiz.

Lights Out Pitching from The Brewers

Milwaukee's pitching dominated us through the 6th and 7th innings. Despite a few singles, we couldn't string anything together. Every time we tried to mount a comeback, their pitching staff shut us down. Sam Hilliard did give us something to cheer about with a massive 434-foot homer in the 8th inning, making it 2-5. 💪

Ninth Inning Heartbreak

The 9th inning saw the Brewers' closer Williams take the mound and unfortunately, our bats remained silent. Michael Toglia, Brendan Rodgers, and Hunter Goodman each struck out swinging, sealing the victory for Milwaukee. It was a tough pill to swallow after showing signs of life late in the game.

Silver Linings

Despite the loss, there were some positives. Ryan McMahon and Sam Hilliard's homers were bright spots. Additionally, our bullpen, particularly Hill and Criswell, did well to keep the Brewers from extending their lead further. We’ll regroup and come back stronger. 🌟

Keep the faith, Rockies fans. We'll bounce back! Go Rockies! 🌄
