Giants' Early Lead Sets the Tone

Hey Giants fans! What a thrilling game we had against the Rockies. Our boys started the game strong, with Casey Schmitt smashing a solo homer to left center in the bottom of the first inning! That 422-foot shot was the perfect way to set the tone. 🍾 After a quiet inning from both teams, we were up 1-0 heading into the second.

Building on the Momentum

The second inning saw some fantastic plays from our side. Michael Conforto doubled to left, which was quickly followed by Derek Hill tripling to right to bring Conforto home. 🏃‍♂️ Jorge Soler then hit a ground rule double, allowing Hill to score and making it 3-0 for the Giants. We were all over the Rockies’ pitching at this point.

Rockies' Attempts to Come Back

The Rockies tried to claw back into the game in the fourth inning when Charlie Blackmon singled to right, allowing Ezequiel Tovar to score. Another attempt came in the sixth inning when Rockies' Hunter Goodman singled to right to bring Tovar home again. This cut our lead to 3-2, but the Giants weren't going to let this slip away.

Chapman's Heroics in the Sixth

Matt Chapman had a huge hit in the bottom of the sixth, lining a single to left field and bringing both Soler and Hill home. This critical play stretched our lead to 5-2, giving us some needed breathing room. 🎉

Holding Off in the Ninth

Things got a bit tense in the ninth. Michael Toglia singled to right and then Jake Cave also singled, putting runners in scoring positions. Jacob Stallings managed to ground out to second but scored Toglia. With the tying run on second base, Camilo Doval held strong, striking out Sam Hilliard and getting Tovar to ground out to shortstop to seal the 5-4 win for the Giants!⚾

Giants fans, it was an exhilarating game with some nail-biting moments, but our team showed resilience and came out on top. Let’s keep this momentum going! 🖤🧡
