Rockies Start with Optimism

Hey Rockies fans! Well, we started off the game today with some optimism, hoping to bring down the Mariners out in Seattle. The first inning seemed promising for our side as Mickey Moniak got on base with a nice single to left. However, things didn't quite roll our way as Hunter Goodman, Blaine Crim, and Jordan Beck couldn't keep the momentum going. Meanwhile, our defense was on top of their game as we held the Mariners scoreless in the first inning too. 💪

Mariners Seize Control

The second inning was where the Mariners took charge, much to our dismay. After a single from Josh Naylor, Eugenio Suárez hit a two-run homer and put Seattle in the lead, 2-0. Our lineup struggled to get the hits we needed, and the Mariners took advantage in subsequent innings. By the time the fifth inning ended, they had extended their lead to 6-0. Ouch. 😩

Our Resilient Rockies Battle Back

We finally got on the scoreboard in the 6th inning thanks to a vital piece of batting from Ezequiel Tovar, who brought Blaine Crim home and made it 6-1. The team showed some resilience and fight, and Hunter Goodman added another run in the ninth inning, but unfortunately, the gap was too large to bridge today. Ending with 6-2 in favor of the Mariners wasn't the result we were cheering for, but let's give props to Ryan Ritter and Hunter Goodman for their consistent hits and Braxton Fulford for getting on base through a walk in that tense ninth inning. We're all hoping for a much-needed win next time! 🤞 Keep your heads up, Rockies Nation!
