What a game, Tigers fans! Our boys pulled through with a thrilling 6-4 victory in extra innings against the Baltimore Orioles! Let's dive into the rollercoaster of emotions we experienced throughout this match.
Strong Start from Dillon Dingler Gives Tigers Early Lead 
In the top of the 2nd inning, Riley Greene managed to walk, setting the stage for Dillon Dingler. After a double by Trey Sweeney, Dingler tripled to center, bringing home both Greene and Sweeney, putting us up 2-0! The Orioles managed to get one run back in the bottom of the 2nd, but our guys maintained the lead 2-1.
Pitching Holds Strong Through Mid-Game 
Shout-out to our pitchers who kept their cool! In the bottom of the 4th, after a bit of a scare with runners advancing, Rutschman was thrown out at home. Meanwhile, Hurter and Vest kept the Orioles at bay. The 5th inning saw both teams struggling at the plate as our boys held onto the 2-1 lead.
Late-Game Drama as Orioles Tie It Up 
The game kept us on the edge of our seats! In the bottom of the 6th, Emmanuel Rivera singled to center, allowing Rutschman to score. So we found ourselves tied 2-2. Things were quiet until the 8th inning when we roared back as Riley Greene and Jake Rogers delivered clutch singles, bringing in runs and giving us a 4-2 lead.
Orioles Force Extra Innings 
In the bottom of the 9th, with Villain-Henderson doubling to center and scoring two runs, the Orioles tied the game 4-4. Our hopes of sealing it in 9 innings were dashed, but the fight wasn’t over!
Tigers Seal the Deal in the 10th! 
The top of the 10th was our moment! Riley Greene came through again, singling to right and scoring Matt Vierling. Jace Jung then doubled, and Zach McKinstry hit a sacrifice fly to bring in another run, pushing our lead to 6-4. In the bottom of the 10th, Beau Brieske closed it out, ensuring no more damage from the Orioles!
