Tough Loss for the Tigers in Cleveland

Hey Tigers fans! 😓 Another nail-biter in the books, but unfortunately, we came up just short against the Guardians, losing by a final score of 4-5. Let's break down what happened!

Early Inning Struggles

The game started off quiet with both teams unable to put runs on the board in the first two innings. Matt Vierling, Colt Keith, and Justyn-Henry Malloy struggled to get on base early for us. On the bright side, Alex Faedo did a solid job in relief, stepping in for Garrett Hill after Garrett handled the first inning without a hitch.

Guardians Break Through

The Guardians were the first to score when Steven Kwan homered to right in the bottom of the 3rd inning. But we struck right back in the 4th inning thanks to a two-run blast by Wenceel Perez! 🔥 That homer brought Mark Canha, who had doubled, home, giving us a 2-1 lead. But those pesky Guardians answered quickly with a homer of their own by Jhonkensy Noel to tie the game at 2-2.

Mid-Inning Shift

In the bottom of the 5th, the Guardians edged ahead with a solo homer by Jose Ramirez. Our offense struggled in the top of the 6th inning as Malloy, Canha, and Perez all struck out. Then the Guardians extended their lead in the bottom of the 6th, scoring two more runs to make it 5-2. Things weren't looking great at this point. 😕

Late Rally Falls Short

We managed to rally in the top of the 7th. After a double by Zach McKinstry and a sac fly by Jake Rogers, we scored to make it 5-3. Then, Vierling walked and another run came in on a pickoff error by pitcher Gaddis, making it 5-4. Keith unfortunately popped out, and we couldn't capitalize further from there.

In the top of the 9th inning, Clase came in to close it out for the Guardians. Despite our best efforts and some solid contact, we went down 1-2-3 to end the game. A tough loss for sure, but our boys fought hard!

Looking Ahead

Despite the loss, there are plenty of positives to take away. Wenceel Perez's clutch homer and our bullpen showing resilience are good signs. Let's regroup and get ready to bounce back in the next game. Keep your heads up, Tigers fans! 🐅💪

Let's go Tigers! 🌟
