Tigers Strike Early and Hard 🐅

The game got off to a rough start for our Houston Astros 😓. In the top of the 1st inning, the Tigers came out swinging. Matt Vierling and Riley Greene both hit back-to-back homers to give the Tigers an early 2-0 lead. Despite our boys waking up early, the offense didn't catch the same vibe in our half of the inning, with Jose Altuve striking out swinging, followed by Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez going down quickly.

A Devastating Second Inning 😢

The second inning felt like a sucker punch. The Tigers exploded for 6 more runs, thanks to crucial hits by Wenceel Pérez, Riley Greene, and errors that gave Detroit an 8-0 lead. We brought in Brandon Bielak to replace Shawn Dubin, but the damage was already done. Our boys couldn’t crack the scoreboard in the bottom of the second, leaving Jon Singleton stranded after his single.

Houston Still Asleep in the Third 💤

Detroit tacked on two more runs, with Riley Greene continuing to haunt us 😩. Despite our struggles, no Astros found success at the plate to kick off the third inning. Victor Caratini managed a triple, but we failed to bring him home with Altuve and Bregman again being unable to get the bats going.

Astros Stay Cold Until the Seventh 🌨️

The Tigers kept adding to their lead, making it 11-0 by the end of the sixth. However, Astros fans had something to cheer for in the seventh inning. Victor Caratini, Trey Cabbage, and Alex Bregman all contributed, capped by a clutch three-run homer by Chas McCormick! This brought our score up to 5. Finally, a spark! ⚡

Too Little, Too Late 😞

In the final innings, the Tigers sealed the deal with another home run by Colt Keith. Despite our best efforts, the Astros couldn’t add any more runs in the 9th inning. Jose Altuve went down swinging once more, and Alex Bregman's groundout marked the end of a tough game for the home team.

Final Thoughts

Tough game, Astros fans. We saw some bright spots late in the game, but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Let's hope our boys can turn it around in the next one! 💪⚾
