Tigers Triumph Over Royals in Extra Innings! 🎉

What a nail-biter of a game for our Detroit Tigers! We managed to pull off a thrilling 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals in 10 innings. Let's break down the action:

Early Lead for the Tigers 🐅

We started strong in the Top of the 1st inning when Andy Ibáñez got hit by a pitch. Matt Vierling then doubled to left, allowing Ibáñez to score early. Although we had runners in scoring position, we couldn't capitalize further. Regardless, we took a 1-0 lead. 💪

Royals Equalize 😬

In the Bottom of the 3rd, the Royals managed to even the score. Bobby Witt Jr. walked and later stole second. Salvador Perez singled, advancing Witt Jr. to second. Michael Massey then singled to right, bringing Witt Jr. home. This tied the game at 1-1.

Missed Opportunities 🤦‍♂️

Both teams had multiple chances to score in the middle innings, but fantastic pitching and solid defense kept the score locked at 1-1. Special shoutout to our defense for those clutch double plays to stop the Royals' momentum! 🙌

10th Inning Heroics 🏆

Finally, in the Top of the 10th, we broke the tie. Trey Sweeney advanced to third on a balk, and then Parker Meadows singled to left, bringing Sweeney home. Matt Vierling walked, setting the stage for Riley Greene, who singled to center, allowing Meadows to score. That put us ahead 3-1! 🎉

In the Bottom of the 10th, Jason Foley closed it out in style, with Witt Jr., Perez, and Massey all failing to reach base. Game over, Tigers win! 🐅

Final Score: Tigers 3, Royals 1 🎊

Big props to Matt Vierling for his early game contribution and to Riley Greene for sealing the deal in extra innings. Also, a huge thank you to our pitching staff, especially Jason Foley for shutting it down in the 10th. What a game, and what a win! Let's keep this momentum going, Tigers fans! 💪🐯⚾
