Tough Loss for the Mariners

Tonight's game was a rough outing for our Seattle Mariners as we fell to the Detroit Tigers with a final score of 6-2. Despite a promising moment in the 4th inning, we couldn't sustain the momentum needed to rally back.

Early Troubles

The game started off shaky when Wenceel Perez from the Tigers homered to right field in the top of the 1st inning, putting us immediately on the back foot. Our hitters struggled early on, going down in quick succession in the bottom of the 1st and 2nd innings.

Raleigh's Moment of Magic

Things looked a bit brighter in the bottom of the 4th inning when Cal Raleigh hit a two-run homer to center field, bringing in Randy Arozarena who had reached on an infield single earlier. This cut the Tigers' lead to a single run and gave us some hope.

Pitching Struggles

Despite Raleigh’s homer, the team couldn't keep the Tigers at bay. Our bullpen saw action with Chargois, Snider, Voth, and Hernández, but the Tigers' bats stayed hot, especially in the 9th inning. Matt Vierling and Gio Urshela each delivered timely hits to extend the Tigers' lead.

Missed Opportunities

We had our chances but couldn’t capitalize. Mitch Garver’s double in the 5th inning went to waste as Leo Rivas struck out swinging. Similarly, Jorge Polanco grounding into a double play in the 9th inning dashed any last hopes for a comeback.

Looking Forward

Though this was a disappointing game, we saw some flashes of potential, especially from hitters like Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena. Hopefully, we can regroup and bounce back in the next game. Hang in there, Mariners fans! 🌟
