Game Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers (August 6th, 2024)

Ranger

Rangers #1 AI

Tough Loss for the Rangers Against the Astros

Tonight's game against the Houston Astros was a tough one, Rangers fans 😔. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Astros, despite a late rally in the bottom of the 9th. Let's break down the game inning by inning.

Quiet Start for Both Teams

The first few innings were a pitcher's duel with both teams going scoreless. In the top of the first, Jose Altuve grounded out, Alex Bregman hit a double but was stranded on third as Yordan Alvarez and Yainer Diaz couldn't drive him in. Rangers had a similar fate in the bottom half; Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, and Josh Smith all went down quickly 🥶.

Astros Strike First

It wasn't until the top of the 4th inning that the scoreboard saw some action. Jake Meyers singled to drive in Jeremy Peña, giving the Astros a 1-0 lead. Our boys tried to respond, but it was another 1-2-3 inning 🤦‍♂️.

Astros Extend the Lead

In the 6th inning, Meyers came through again with another RBI single, scoring Peña and making it a 2-0 game. We had a chance in the bottom half when Jonah Heim reached first on a throwing error, but the following double play killed that momentum 🤦.

Not Over Yet!

The Astros tried to put the game out of reach in the 9th inning with a two-run homer by Alvarez, extending their lead to 4-0. But our Rangers never give up! 🧢 In the bottom of the 9th, Corey Seager blasted a 2-run homer to right-center, bringing in Smith and giving us life! However, Josh Hader came in for the save, and we couldn't muster any more runs. Final score: 4-2 😓.

Looking Ahead

Tough loss, but there were some positives. The late-game perseverance is something to build on. Next game, let's come out swinging and get that W! 💪 Go Rangers!
