Tough Loss for the Sox

Unfortunately, it was a tough night at Fenway as we faced off against the Kansas City Royals and couldn't come out on top. Final score: 6-1, Royals. Let's dive into the game summary.Royals Strike Early
The Royals wasted no time putting runs on the board. After a single by Frazier and Witt Jr., a sacrifice fly by Perez scored the first run. By the middle of the 1st inning, we were down 1-0.Second Inning Struggles
The second inning was rough.
An error by Gonzalez and a series of hits allowed the Royals to extend their lead to 4-0. However, we did manage to get one back when Jamie Westbrook doubled and Ceddanne Rafaela brought him home with another double. We ended the inning trailing 4-1.Hard-Hitting Royals
The Royals' Bobby Witt Jr. hit a monster homer in the 4th inning, making it 5-1. Despite getting some men on base, we just couldn't capitalize. Our bats remained relatively silent, and those key hits just never came.
Middle Innings Fizzle Out
By the 5th and 6th innings, neither team could add to their tally. However, our boys continued to struggle at the plate. We saw some opportunities with men on base, but they just couldn't find a way to bring them home.Final Blow
MJ Melendez delivered the final blow in the 8th inning with a homer, pushing their lead to 6-1. Any chances of a comeback seemed to dwindle from there.End Game
The 9th inning saw us go down in order. It was a frustrating and difficult game, but there's always hope for tomorrow! Rafael Devers, Connor Wong, and Dominic Smith gave it their all in their final at-bats but couldn't come through.Heads up, Sox fans!
