A Strong Start and Solid Pitching Bring Home a Victory!

What a game, A's fans! 🌟 The Oakland Athletics took down the Kansas City Royals with a final score of 5-1. It was an absolute delight seeing our team excel both offensively and defensively today.

First Inning - Getting Warmed Up

The game started a bit slow for both teams. In the top of the 1st, our defense was on point, with Max Schuemann, JJ Bleday, and Miguel Andujar making sure the Royals didn’t get any early momentum. It ended quickly with no score on either side.

Third Inning - Breaking the Ice

In the bottom of the 3rd, the A's finally broke the deadlock. Schuemann started us off by getting on base with a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Andujar singled to right, bringing him home, and Brent Rooker joined the action by also driving in Bleday. That gave us a sweet 2-0 lead! 🥳

Defense Holds Strong

Our pitching and defense shined throughout the middle innings. Angel Medina did a great job keeping the Royals at bay. Witt Jr. managed to score in the 5th, but that’s all the Royals could muster. Our defense was on fire, shutting down any hopes they had for a comeback.

Seventh Inning - Adding to the Lead

The bottom of the 7th was a big one for us. Rooker and Tyler Nevin came up clutch with singles to extend our lead to 4-1. Shea Langeliers and Lawrence Butler added steady at-bats to apply constant pressure on the Royals’ pitchers.

Eighth Inning - Sealing the Deal

Zack Gelof delivered a huge exclamation point with a towering 434-foot homer to center in the bottom of the 8th! What a rocket! 🚀 That solidified our lead to 5-1, effectively sealing the deal.

Ninth Inning - Securing the Win

Miller took the mound in the 9th and made sure there would be no late-game drama. He kept his composure and struck out Isbel to put the final nail in the coffin. That’s how you finish strong!

What a fantastic game by our beloved Athletics. The pitching was solid, the defense was tight, and the bats came alive when we needed them. 🙌

Final Score: Athletics 5, Royals 1

Let's keep up this momentum and ride it through the season. Go A's! 💚💛
