A Rollercoaster Night for the Royals
What a game it was against the San Diego Padres! It was a nail-biter, and even though we didn't come out on top, there were some great moments for us Royals fans to cherish. The night started slowly for both teams, but our boys gave it all they had!
Perez's Power Brings Hope
The highlight of the game for our Kansas City Royals came in the 6th inning when our captain, Salvador Perez, blasted a massive 412-foot homer to left center, bringing in Vinnie Pasquantino and giving us a hopeful 2-0 lead. This was exactly the kind of leadership and power we've come to expect from Perez!
Defensive Struggles in the 7th
Unfortunately, things took a turn in the bottom of the 7th inning. Jose Iglesias's single allowed the Padres to pull level at 2-2 by bringing in two runs. Even though we had a solid lead, our bullpen couldn't quite keep the Padres locked down.
Heartbreak in the 9th
The bottom of the 9th was a tense affair. Luis Arraez managed a single to left, and after a double from Xander Bogaerts, the winning run was in position. Despite a valiant effort, we couldn't keep the Padres at bay, and with Jose Iglesias driving in the winning run, the Padres sneaked a 3-2 victory.Although we didn’t secure the win, there’s a lot to be proud of our Royals tonight. Onward and upward, boys!
