The game was packed with highs and lows, but seeing the Rockies clinch the win made it all worthwhile. The Rockies set the tone early in the first inning with Tyler Freeman leading off with a double to center, setting up Hunter Goodman who tripled and scored Freeman. Goodman didn't stop there, as he came home on a sacrifice fly by Blaine Crim. The Angels fought back in the second, jumping ahead with two big homers, but our Rockies were up for the challenge! By the end of the second inning, Freeman's single brought Ezequiel Tovar home, leveling the score to 3-3.Come the fifth inning, the Angels tried to pull away again, making it 6-3, but our guys responded boldly. Goodman's patience at the plate earned him a walk, setting up for Freeman’s dash to the plate on another Crim sac-fly. The highlight was Brenton Doyle's pipe-hitting single to center that, due to a timely error by the Angels, resulted in two runs, bringing us neck and neck with the Angels. Tovar’s clutch sac-fly eventually brought Doyle home, giving us the leading edge, 7-6.
