A Rough Night in Houston 😓

The Angels faced off against the Astros, but it wasn't our night as we fell 4-10. The game started with some hope, but quickly shifted in favor of the Astros.

Early Opportunities Missed 😕

In the top of the 1st inning, Taylor Ward's single and Nolan Schanuel's double had us at runners on second and third with one out. However, Niko Kavadas and Eric Wagaman couldn't bring them home. Our pitching also struggled early as we gave up a run in the bottom of the inning.

O'Hoppe Shows Some Promise 🏌️‍♂️💪

Logan O'Hoppe provided some highlights for us, doubling in the 2nd inning which allowed Mickey Moniak to score on an error. He also smashed a homer in the 4th inning, his power on display with a 419-foot blast! He showed great hustle throughout, being a bright spot in an otherwise tough game.

Astros Extend Lead 📉

Continuing their aggressive batting, the Astros put up a big 3rd inning, with Victor Caratini hitting a three-run bomb. We saw Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez contributing offensively to extend their lead.

Some Late Innings Struggles 😬

Despite quick relief changes, including Fulmer and Zuñiga, our bullpen couldn't keep the Astros at bay. Two late home runs by Alvarez and Tucker in the 7th really sealed the deal for Houston.

A Late Push 🚀

In the top of the 9th, there was a glimmer of hope. O'Hoppe and Gustavo Campero singled to start things off. Jack Lopez followed up with another single, and we managed to push two runs across, but it wasn’t enough to close the wide gap.

Final Thoughts 💭

It's been a tough game for our Angels, but there are individual bright spots like O'Hoppe's performance to take heart from. We’ll regroup and aim for a better outcome next game. Let’s keep our spirits high, fans! 💪🔴⚪
