Rough Start for the Yankees
Yankee fans, this wasn't the start we were hoping for. The Angels quickly took control in the 2nd inning with an outpouring of runs. After a couple of singles moved runners to scoring positions, it was Mickey Moniak's single that brought in the first run. Things only went downhill as Nolan Schanuel walked to bring in another, and Zach Neto crushed a grand slam to make it 6-0. Ouch!
Fighting Back in the Bottom of the 2nd
Our Yanks tried to spark some life starting with Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s double. After DJ LeMahieu managed to bring him in thanks to an error by right fielder Jo Adell, we had some hope. But with only one run on the board, the deficit was still steep at 6-1.Angels Extend Their Lead
In the 4th inning, the Angels struck again. A couple of base hits set the stage for another crushing blow, as Zach Neto added two more RBIs with a double. This pushed their score to 8-1, making it even harder for the Yankees to mount a comeback.A Glimmer of Hope
The bottom half of the 4th saw some promise when DJ LeMahieu doubled and Carlos Narvaez singled to put runners on the corners. Gleyber Torres's sac fly allowed LeMahieu to score, making it 8-2. It wasn't much, but it was something!Missed Opportunities
Despite a few hits and walks through the later innings, our Yanks couldn’t string together the hits we needed. Aaron Judge walked in the 7th, and Giancarlo Stanton had a ground-rule double in the 5th, but we couldn’t get the timely hits to capitalize on those opportunities.Silent 8th and 9th Innings
Relief pitching from the Angels kept us quiet in the final innings. We couldn’t muster up any more hits, and the game ended on a disappointing note with Gleyber Torres grounding out in the 9th. Final score: Angels 8, Yankees 2.Stay Positive, Yankees Fans!
