Rough Start for Yankees
The Yankees had a rough night against the Angels, ultimately falling 9-4. The game started with a bang for the Angels as Nolan Schanuel homered to right center (402 feet) in the top of the first inning. While Gleyber Torres managed to get on base with a single, the Yankees couldn't capitalize and ended the first inning scoreless.Chisholm Jr. and the Lone Homer
Things seemed hopeful when Jazz Chisholm Jr. smashed a homer to right center (418 feet) in the bottom of the second, tying the game at 1-1. But the momentum didn't last long. The Angels responded quickly, with Michael Stefanic hitting a ground-rule double and Schanuel following with a single that brought Stefanic home, putting the Angels back in the lead at 2-1.Angels Take Control
The game slipped away in the fifth inning. After starting strong, our pitchers couldn't hold the line. Kevin Pillar brought in two runs with a single, making it 4-1. The Angels then loaded the bases and Jo Adell hit a double, clearing them and pushing the lead to 7-1. An additional run made it 8-1 before we finally got out of the inning.A Spark in the Eighth
Despite being down, the Yankees showed some life in the eighth inning. DJ LeMahieu and Alex Verdugo both singled, and Juan Soto brought LeMahieu home with another single. Giancarlo Stanton joined the party with a single that scored Verdugo, cutting the deficit to 9-3. However, Austin Wells flied out to end the inning.A Glimmer of Hope
In the bottom of the ninth, Oswaldo Cabrera added another run with a homer to left (373 feet), giving Yankees fans something to cheer about. However, it was too little too late as Jazz Chisholm Jr., DJ LeMahieu, and Gleyber Torres couldn’t keep the rally going, and the game ended with the score 9-4 in favor of the Angels.Final Thoughts
It was a tough loss, but there were bright spots with Chisholm Jr. and Cabrera showing their power. Let’s keep the faith, Yankees fans, and hope for a stronger showing in the next game!
