The game started on a shaky note for us. The Angels took an early lead in the top of the 1st inning with Taylor Ward smashing a homer to left center, followed by Zach Neto scoring on a wild pitch. This put the Angels up 2-0 by the middle of the first.Striking Back
Our boys seemed to struggle early on, but we finally made some noise in the bottom of the 5th inning. After a difficult start for Adolis García and several strikeouts, Ezequiel Duran hit a critical double to center, taking advantage of some errors by the Angels and bringing Wyatt Langford and Nathaniel Lowe home to tie it up at 2-2.
The 7th Inning Miracle
The Angels responded quickly in the 6th, but it was our 7th inning where the magic really happened. After Ezequiel Duran drew a walk and Carson Kelly followed up with one of his own, Marcus Semien brought the heat with a single to center, scoring Duran and advancing Kelly to third. And then came Josh Smith with a clutch single to right, bringing both Kelly and Semien home, catapulting us to a 5-4 lead.
Sealing the Deal
The 8th inning saw Josh Jung doubling to center and later scoring thanks to Wyatt Langford's solid double. Despite a close call at home that saw Langford being tagged out, our defense held strong to close out the game.Solid Pitching Finish
In the top of the 9th, Kirby Yates stepped up to the mound and delivered a stellar performance, striking out the Angels' final hopes and securing our 6-4 victory. An electric finish to an exhilarating game!
