A Strong Start From the Blue Jays!
What a fantastic game! Our boys really brought the heat early on. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Daulton Varsho reached on an infield single and made it all the way to third on a throwing error by the Angels' pitcher. Then, our MVP Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled to left and brought Varsho home, putting the Blue Jays on the scoreboard. Joey Loperfido followed up with another double to right, driving Guerrero Jr. home for a 2-0 lead.
Blue Jays' Defense Shines!
Our pitchers and fielders were absolutely lights out today. Strikeouts galore! Starting from the very first inning where the Angels' batters couldn't get a hit, our pitching staff did a marvelous job. The Angels' batters were striking out left and right, with notable Ks against Taylor Ward, Zach Neto, and Kevin Pillar. No one could get past our boys!
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Seals the Deal!
Fast-forward to the bottom of the 8th inning, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. once again delivered when it counted the most. He blasted a 414-foot homer to center, extending our lead to 3-0. This was the cherry on top of a dominant performance.
A Minor Scare in the 9th
The Angels tried to mount a comeback in the top of the 9th with Taylor Ward hitting a solo homer to center. But Pillar and Rendon couldn't handle the pressure, striking out against our closer.Final score: Blue Jays 3, Angels 1. Well played, team! Let's keep this momentum going!
