A Tough Loss in Arizona 😞

Our Dodgers took a tough 3-14 loss against the Diamondbacks. Despite some promising moments, it was a challenging game from the start. Let's dive into the highlights (and lowlights) from the game.

First Inning

We kicked off with Shohei Ohtani striking out swinging. Mookie Betts managed to get a single to center, but it didn't lead to any runs as Freddie Freeman flied out to center and Teoscar Hernández struck out swinging. The Diamondbacks couldn't capitalize either, with Geraldo Perdomo lining out to center and Corbin Carroll flying out to center.

Nightmare Second Inning

The second inning was where things really started to unravel. Although we had Gavin Lux and Tommy Edman getting on base, Max Muncy, Kevin Kiermaier, and Austin Barnes couldn't bring them home. The Diamondbacks, however, took advantage and scored 8 runs! Highlights include Randal Grichuk hitting a three-run homer and Perdomo's double that brought in two more runs.

Small Spark in the Fourth

In the fourth inning, we showed some life with Chris Taylor singling to left and Lux doubling to right. Edman grounded out, bringing Taylor home, giving us our first run, but Kiermaier struck out and Barnes flied out, ending our hopes for a bigger rally.

More Runs, But Not Enough

In the sixth, we added two more runs thanks to Edman and Barnes, but by then, the Diamondbacks had already secured a 9-3 lead.

Seventh and Eighth Inning Woes

Unfortunately, the seventh and eighth innings didn't offer much redemption. More errors and aggressive batting from the Diamondbacks extended their lead to 14-3. Newman scored thanks to a throwing error by Edman, and Luis Guillorme and Grichuk further padded the score with RBI singles.

Final Push

Barnes gave a final effort with a single in the ninth inning, but the rally ended with Rojas grounding out and Andy Pages striking out looking. A tough day for our hitters and pitchers alike.

Looking Ahead

While it was a rough game, there's always the next one to look forward to. Let's regroup and come back stronger, Dodgers Nation! 💪

Go Dodgers!
