Dodgers Outlast Athletics in 3-2 Nail-Biter
What a thrilling game, Dodgers fans! We held our breath until the very end, but our boys pulled through with a fantastic 3-2 victory against the Oakland Athletics!
First Inning Fireworks
The top of the 1st inning looked promising right from the start. After Shohei Ohtani struck out looking, Teoscar Hernández doubled to left, setting the table for Gavin Lux to walk. Although Jason Heyward struck out swinging, Enrique Hernández came through with a clutch double to left, bringing in both Hernández and Lux to score. Biggio then walked, but Amed Rosario grounded into a fielder’s choice. Dodgers up 2-0 early!
Athletics Respond
The bottom of the 1st inning was a little nerve-wracking for us. Lawrence Butler lined out and Miguel Andujar struck out, but JJ Bleday singled to center, setting up Brent Rooker, who homered to left center, tying the game at 2-2.
Shea Langeliers walked, but Seth Brown grounded out to end the inning.Biggio’s Heroics in the 3rd
Jason Heyward singled to right and advanced to second on an error. Enrique Hernández fouled out, but Cavan Biggio came through again with a single to center, scoring Heyward. Biggio tried to stretch it but was thrown out at second. Dodgers back up 3-2!
The Bullpen Gets It Done
Pitching was lights out from there on. Blake Treinen, Alex Vesia, and Daniel Hudson each threw scoreless innings while picking up crucial outs. The Athletics couldn’t find their rhythm and our defense was so solid.
Banda Closes It Out
Tense moments in the 9th inning as Banda came in to close. Daz Cameron struck out swinging, Abraham Toro grounded out to second, and Zack Gelof grounded out to third to seal the win! Banda was excellent under pressure, and we secured the W.
Final Thoughts
This was a great team effort with key performances from Enrique Hernández, Cavan Biggio, and our bullpen. The victory brings us closer to our goals, and it feels so good to see our Dodgers fighting hard for every win!
