Tough Loss for the D-backs
Hey, D-backs fans!
Early Struggles
The Marlins got on the board first in the top of the 1st inning, capitalizing on an error from our shortstop, Geraldo Perdomo, which was unlike him. They then extended their lead with a ground-rule double. Pavin Smith brought us some hope with a sacrifice fly to get us on the board in the bottom of the 1st, scoring Perdomo.A Powerful Comeback
In the 4th inning, things finally clicked for us. James McCann singled to bring Randal Grichuk home, and Geraldo Perdomo followed with another single to score Jake McCarthy. Then Ketel Marte, the hero of the inning, crushed a three-run homer into the stands to put us in the lead, 6-3.

Holding the Lead, Barely
JoJo Backhus and Kevin Ginkel held the Marlins in check through the middle innings, and Ketel Marte padded our advantage with a sacrifice fly in the 6th to bring the score to 7-3. But the Marlins kept fighting, chipping away at our lead with a Lopez home run in the 8th.Heartbreak in Extras
With the game tied 7-7, the Marlins nudged ahead in the top of the 10th inning on a single by Ramírez, scoring Lopez. We tried to rally, sending in Blaze Alexander as a pinch runner, but the Marlins shut us down.Tough break for our boys today. Chin up, D-backs nation — we'll get them next time!
