A Strong Start for the Marlins 🐠

Our Miami Marlins opened the game with a promising start against the Braves! In the top of the 1st inning, Xavier Edwards got things rolling with a single to left. Although Jake Burger struck out, Edwards showed his speed by stealing second. Jesus Sánchez then moved Edwards to third with a groundout. The highlight of the inning? A two-run homer by Jonah Bride to put us up 2-0!

Maintaining the Lead 🏃‍♂️

Jake Burger continued to shine in the 3rd inning with a solo homer (418 feet) to extend our lead to 3-0. We managed to keep the Braves at bay through the first four innings, with excellent defense and pitching.

Coming Undone in the Late Innings 😣

The trouble started in the bottom of the 5th when Orlando Arcia homered, making it 3-1. While Whitt Merrifield's triple and Austin Riley's groundout in the 6th inning brought the Braves to 3-2.

The 8th inning was our undoing. Jarred Kelenic drew a walk, and after a single by Jorge Soler (run scored by Kelenic), the game was tied. Marcell Ozuna’s sacrifice fly and Orlando Arcia’s single added two more runs for the Braves, bringing the score to 5-3.

Last Gasp Effort 💔

We attempted to rally in the 9th inning, but Braves pitcher Jiménez shut us down. Although Otto Lopez got an infield single and moved to second on a fielder's indifference, we couldn’t capitalize with Nick Gordon and Emmanuel Rivera both left on base after Vidal Bruján struck out looking.

Final Score: Marlins 3, Braves 5. This defeat stings, but we're proud of our early fight and we know we'll come back stronger! Let’s keep the faith, Marlins fans! 💪🐬
