Tough Loss in Boston
Hey Marlins fans! What a nail-biter in Boston, but unfortunately, our beloved Marlins fell short with a final score of 2-1 against the Red Sox. Despite the loss, there was a lot to be proud of from our guys. Let's dive into the game highlights!
️Early Highlights and Missed Opportunities
The game started strong for the Marlins. After a quiet start in the first inning, Kyle Stowers brought the action with an impressive double to right in the first inning. But despite this momentum, we couldn't capitalize on it until later. In the top of the third inning, Xavier Edwards cracked a double, setting up Stowers for a magnificent RBI double, bringing Edwards home and putting us on the board with a 1-0 lead!
Meanwhile, Otto Lopez and Jakob Marsee also added to the offense with critical doubles and a single, but we just couldn't add to the score.Pitching Showdown and a Tough Ending
Our pitching was quite commendable, holding the Red Sox at bay for most of the game! Anthony Bender replaced Sandy Alcantara in the 7th inning and did a solid job striking out two in a row. Unfortunately, it was the bottom of the 6th where Alex Bregman for the Red Sox managed to bring Roman Anthony home with a double to tie the score 1-1.Then it was all down to the wire in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied. Trevor Story delivered the final blow with a single that scored Anthony, giving Boston the victory.
