In the first inning, both teams were unable to score. But in the top of the 2nd, Derek Hill set the tone by launching a homer to center (432 feet)!
That gave us an early lead with the score at 1-0. The Rockies couldn’t respond in their half of the inning, keeping our narrow lead intact.Building Momentum
The Marlins extended their lead in the 3rd inning when Kyle Stowers singled to center, driving in Connor Norby who had reached third. Meanwhile, Derek Hill continued to shine with another homer in the 6th inning, pushing the score to 10-6.
Middle Innings Drama
In a thrilling 4th inning, the Rockies' batters responded with homers of their own, courtesy of Brendan Rodgers and Brenton Doyle, narrowing the gap to 7-6. Despite their efforts, our Marlins kept up the pressure and scored more with notable hits from Vidal Brujan and Ali Sánchez.Securing the Lead
The nail-biting 5th and 6th innings saw the Marlins fending off a spirited effort by the Rockies, who edged closer but never quite managed to take the lead. Our strategic plays, like Norby’s steal home and some solid pitching changes, helped keep the Rockies at bay.Closing the Deal
