What a Finish!
Hey Royals fans!
What an exhilarating game tonight against the Marlins! The lads managed to pull off an incredible comeback to win 5-1. Let's dive into the details of this thrilling matchup at Kauffman Stadium.Early Struggles
The game started off slow offensively for us. In the 1st inning, Maikel Garcia fouled out to right, and although Bobby Witt Jr. got hit by a pitch, we couldn't capitalize as Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez both got out to end the inning.Our pitching staff wasn’t perfect, but they did their best. After Vidal Bruján doubled in the 2nd inning, the Marlins scored their only run of the game when Nick Fortes singled to right, bringing in Bruján.
Mid-Game Frustrations
The middle innings were tough for both teams offensively. We saw Nick Loftin, MJ Melendez, and Hunter Renfroe try their best, but the Marlins’ defense held strong. The top of the 7th inning was just as frustrating for Miami, with James Zerpa and the rest of our pitchers keeping them at bay.Epic 8th Inning Comeback! 
The magic really happened in the bottom of the 8th inning. Bobby Witt Jr. tripled to center, and Vinnie Pasquantino singled him home, tying the game at 1-1! Pinch-runner Dairon Blanco exhibited some hustle, stealing second and advancing on a Salvador Perez double to put us in the lead at 2-1.The momentum kept swinging our way. Nick Loftin singled to left to score Perez, and then a MJ Melendez single and a walk by Hunter Renfroe loaded the bases for Freddy Fermin. Fermin’s clutch single brought home two more runs, making it 5-1. What an inning!
Closing the Game
John McArthur came in to close it out in the 9th inning. He made quick work of the Marlins, grounding out Josh Bell and Jordan Sánchez, then finishing off Jake Burger to seal the victory.The crowd was electric, and the boys gave us plenty to cheer about!
